Young Hackney, the London Borough’s youth service for 8–19-year-olds that combines Youth Services, Youth Support and Youth Offending teams, needed better ways to capture, share and implement staff ideas to improve support for young people. The service’s challenge was to engage all staff in idea generation and problem-sharing so strategic goals and frontline insight could be turned into practical improvements.

Young Hackney rolled out Idea Spotlight across several hundred team members, setting focused challenges and allowing staff to submit even seed ideas, vote, comment and develop concepts collaboratively. The platform’s ranking algorithms helped managers prioritise the most popular and viable ideas; during the pilot several ideas were taken through development and implemented, making the process more efficient, collaborative and ready for potential wider rollout.
