Waitrose saves £3.5M with Wazoku

Waitrose, a leading UK supermarket and employee-owned retailer, sought to overhaul its outdated internal suggestion scheme. The previous process was administratively heavy, lacked transparency for employees, and struggled with idea duplication and implementation. To give its 53,000 partners a true voice and platform for innovation, Waitrose turned to Wazoku and its idea management platform.

Wazoku implemented a new platform called 'Partner Ideas' to streamline submission, review, and implementation. This solution provided a simple, engaging user experience with automated workflows and a searchable idea database. As a result, Waitrose received 4,000 ideas from employees, with 7,000 active partners collaborating on the Wazoku platform. The scheme delivered significant measurable impact, including £3.5 million in realised savings, with one idea alone saving £168,000 annually in till roll costs.
