Shared Services Connected Limited (SSCL), a joint venture between the Cabinet Office and Sopra Steria formed in 2013, provides finance, HR, payroll, recruitment and IT contact centre services to central government. During an award‑winning transformation that created four Centres of Excellence and onboarded 300,000 users to a Standard Operating Platform, SSCL faced the challenge of uniting multiple cultures and legacy ways of working while creating an inclusive, two‑way approach to innovation and communication.

SSCL deployed Wazoku’s idea management platform, launching "The Innovation Station" and the employee‑led programme "The SSCL Way" to give every colleague a virtual seat at the ideas table. Within 12 months the programme engaged over 67% of the global workforce, generated 400+ ideas, drove improvements in customer service, facilities and processes, achieved 80% attendance for The SSCL Way, lifted SSCL 11 percentage points above the UK average for Innovation & Continuous Improvement in Great Place to Work, and won the 2018 IdeasUK People & Organisation award.
