The Global Prize for Innovation in Desalination (GPID) needed a scalable way to attract and evaluate top global innovators for its 2024 challenge, aiming to address severe water scarcity. To expand its reach and source breakthrough desalination technologies, GPID partnered with the innovation firm Wazoku for its open innovation ecosystem and challenge platform.

Wazoku provided a structured challenge framework, using its platform to host submissions and its global network for targeted engagement. This effort generated 209 high-quality applications from 37 countries, identified five winners, and brought 32 shortlisted innovators to a global event. The winning projects secured funding and support, demonstrating Wazoku's role in driving tangible impact for GPID’s mission.
