Case Study: Enemærke & Petersen drives sustainable construction innovation with Wazoku

A Wazoku Case Study

Enemærke & Petersen generates 52 ideas in 6 weeks with Wazoku

Enemærke & Petersen, one of Denmark's largest construction firms, faced the challenge of rethinking sustainability and finding new ways to reuse and recycle building materials to reduce waste in their sector. They partnered with the vendor Wazoku and used its idea management platform to run an open innovation competition called The Upcycle Challenge, which crowdsourced solutions from the public.

Wazoku's platform facilitated a six-week global challenge that generated 52 new ideas. The winning idea, 'Reskur,' proposed building sheds from discarded materials and was subsequently implemented, with the first shed built at a school in Copenhagen. This solution, developed through Wazoku's service, has the potential to save 40,000 tonnes of CO2 per year if implemented across Denmark, demonstrating a significant measurable impact on accelerating innovation and sustainability in the construction industry.
