Case Study: Copenhagen FinTech drives global fintech innovation for unbanked communities with Wazoku

A Wazoku Case Study

Copenhagen FinTech crowdsources 9 ideas and awards €13,500 with Wazoku

Copenhagen FinTech, a Danish non-profit network, partnered with the NGO CARE to address a recurring challenge: providing nomadic populations in Niger with access to cash and loans despite low connectivity and scarce banking services. They turned to Wazoku and its idea management platform to source a sustainable, innovative solution from the global fintech community.

Using the Wazoku platform, Copenhagen FinTech and CARE launched an open innovation challenge that crowdsourced ideas globally. Nine proposals were submitted and evaluated, with the winning blockchain-based mobile wallet concept from hiveonline receiving €13,500 for development. This Wazoku-powered project successfully harnessed fintech innovation to create a solution with the potential for wider impact, engaging thousands globally and awarding funds for a tangible proof of concept.
