A Wazoku Case Study
Bayer Crop Science, specifically its subsidiary The Climate Corporation, sought to improve predictive agronomic models for farmers in Europe and South Africa. They faced an information gap, lacking the specific, georeferenced soil and elevation data needed to power these tools. To overcome this, they partnered with vendor Wazoku to run an open innovation Challenge using the Wazoku Crowd.
Wazoku helped frame and execute an Ideation Challenge, attracting a global pool of solvers. The process yielded 19 submitted solutions from solvers in 43 countries, with the $10,000 award split between two winners. Bayer's team stated that using Wazoku's platform provided a faster and more cost-effective solution than any alternative method, allowing them to leverage external expertise to advance their digital farming capabilities.
