English Heritage refreshes Launceston Castle experience in 2022 with The Way Design

The Way Design was selected by English Heritage to rejuvenate the visitor experience at Launceston Castle. The challenge was to transform the internal exhibition space and revamp the outdoor interpretation to make the historical site more engaging for a growing family audience.

The Way Design redesigned the interior with a chronological display and new activities, and refreshed the outdoor panels. The solution included introducing a mascot for children and a toposcope to enhance the views from the tower. The new interpretation, unveiled in 2022, received widespread acclaim and national press attention, significantly enhancing the visitor experience and solidifying the castle's status as a must-visit destination.
