Case Study: Dacorum Borough Council achieves cost-effective urban CCTV connectivity with Wavesight wireless networking

Dacorum Borough Council builds a 20km wireless CCTV network with Wavesight

Dacorum Borough Council faced the challenge of relocating its CCTV control room and upgrading its aging surveillance network across three towns while under significant budget constraints. The council needed a future-proof, cost-effective alternative to expensive leased fibre and turned to vendor Wavesight for a comprehensive wireless network solution.

Wavesight implemented a 20km wireless network using licensed Millimetre Microwave and 5GHz licence-exempt radio solutions to connect over 80 camera nodes. The solution integrated enterprise storage from Pivot3 and unified security management from Genetec. Wavesight delivered a highly secure private network that eliminated ongoing fibre costs, avoided costly civil works, and provided the council with a scalable infrastructure for future services.
