A WaveMaker Case Study
One of the oldest self‑governing bodies in North America that regulates lawyers and paralegals used a centralized member management system running on IBM AS/400 with a built‑in DB2 and green‑screen applications. The legacy DB spread member data across 200+ tables with no defined relationships, creating maintenance and hardware risks, vendor lock‑in, limited flexibility for changing business needs, and high modernization costs.
Using WaveMaker, the team redesigned the schema, auto‑generated APIs (including auditing/traceability APIs), and rebuilt web UIs from prebuilt widgets while reusing and exposing SOAP and internal services. This accelerated replatforming from weeks to clicks, reduced time and cost, enabled scalable, standards‑based microservices and APIs, and delivered an agile, resilient system with minimal business disruption and room for future growth.
