Creating apps to simplify complex bank processes

A Fortune 500 bank—ranked among the top 10 U.S. banks with over 700 branches and 2,000+ ATMs—needed a secure, reliable way for citizen developers to build customized apps to simplify complex, segregated workflows (notably fraud detection). The IT organization required strict security, compliance and tiered workload controls, ran deployments through a rigorous Jenkins CI/CD process to Docker VMs in a private AWS cloud, and enforced no-internet connectivity, making platform updates and vetting a major challenge.

WaveMaker was installed on the bank’s private AWS environment with offline runtime packages, integrated into the bank’s CI/CD pipeline, and subjected to Nessus scanning plus rigorous penetration testing to meet PII, PCI-DSS and CFPB requirements. The resulting apps—used by roughly 500–600 in-house agents—streamlined processes, increased efficiency and productivity, and delivered enterprise-grade security and compliance.
