Setemi creates a BMS network using the Wattsense Box

The customer, Setemi, a provider of maintenance and servicing for over 1,500 sites, faced the challenge of monitoring energy consumption and meeting strict temperature commitments for a 190-unit condominium that lacked a Building Management System (BMS). They needed a flexible, reliable, and inexpensive connectivity solution to link the building's equipment to their web energy management platform and limit on-site technician visits. They turned to the vendor, Wattsense, to address this.

Wattsense implemented its solution, the Wattsense Box, to create a new BMS network. The Box was installed in half a day and unified data from various equipment using different protocols, including a specially developed driver for the closed Diematic protocol. This allowed Setemi to easily deploy its energy performance application via the Wattsense API. The results were significant: the connectivity solution was ten times cheaper than other services and enabled Setemi to achieve its contractual energy management objectives through remote access and control.
