How CBRE real estate management firm uses IoT solutions to connect and control sensors and RVL Siemens devices remotely in a SHELL station

The real estate management firm CBRE faced a challenge in optimizing the maintenance and energy performance for the SHELL service stations it manages. They needed an IoT solution to connect and control sensors and existing building equipment remotely, centralize data from numerous sites, and overcome the complexity of closed communication protocols like LPB. CBRE partnered with Wattsense, Adeunis, and Energisme to address this.

The solution implemented by Wattsense centered on its connectivity service and Box, which broke down data silos by connecting Siemens RVL controllers and a network of LoRaWAN sensors. This provided remote access to critical data for temperature monitoring, leak detection, and equipment status. The results for CBRE included improved energy performance, reduced operational costs, enhanced user comfort, and ensured regulatory compliance, all achieved without costly on-site visits. The Wattsense solution allowed for the centralization of all sensor data on a single interface, streamlining costs and exploiting existing equipment data.
