Suunto - Customer Case Study

Suunto, a Finnish manufacturer of sports watches, dive computers, compasses, and precision instruments, needed better visibility into its manufacturing and test data as its products became more advanced. The team was dealing with missing data, limited monitoring capabilities, and a lack of real-time insight into failed items and operator activity, all while trying to avoid adding heavy internal maintenance work.

Suunto implemented WATS and had the system fully operational within hours, starting with a pilot on its Ambit sports watch line. With WATS, Suunto gained real-time monitoring, clearer defect tracking, better traceability, and easier oversight across its own facilities and supplier sites, leading to higher yield, faster issue resolution, and more efficient use of engineering resources. WATS also proved easy to maintain and scalable, helping Suunto focus less on system upkeep and more on improving production.
