A Watershed Case Study

Preview of the Skyscanner Case Study

Skyscanner optimizes carbon costs while maximizing impact

Skyscanner, the global travel search platform, needed a credible way to measure its full emissions footprint and turn its climate ambition into a practical decarbonization strategy. To support this, it partnered with Watershed and used the Watershed platform and Watershed Marketplace to improve emissions measurement, reporting, and climate planning.

With Watershed’s advisory support and integrated platform, Skyscanner built a budget-aligned decarbonization portfolio, purchased clean energy and EACs, and invested in removals, avoidance credits, and SAF. Watershed helped Skyscanner save $34K through cohort buying, cover 12% of its 2024 emissions with climate credits, address 20% of corporate travel flight emissions through SAF, and reduce 100% of scope 2 and associated scope 3 electricity emissions.
