A Watershed Case Study
AdventHealth, one of the largest faith-based not-for-profit health systems in the U.S., needed a better way to measure and manage its environmental impact across more than 50 hospitals in nine states. Its sustainability team was relying on time-consuming Excel tracking, lacked strong data infrastructure, and faced the complexity of health care-specific emissions sources and a large, multi-tier supply chain. AdventHealth used the Watershed platform and Watershed Supply Chain to support its sustainability program.
Working with Watershed, AdventHealth automated data collection, built methodologies for health care-specific emissions, and improved supplier engagement and reporting across its facilities. With Watershed, AdventHealth reduced annual reporting time from six months to three months, set a 50% emissions-reduction target by 2030, and advanced initiatives including renewable power purchase agreements and facility-specific sustainability plans. The company also strengthened executive buy-in and data confidence, enabling measurable progress across its network.
