Nestlé Waters brings safe water to 50+ students and staff with Waterplan

Nestlé Waters, a multinational beverage company, sought to fulfill its water stewardship commitment by addressing water scarcity in Mexico, where a significant number of schools lack basic water services. They partnered with the vendor Waterplan to help source and vet local implementation partners for a Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) project that would create a positive water impact.

Waterplan connected Nestlé Waters with a local partner, Isla Urbana, to implement a rainwater harvesting system at a school. This solution provided the school with water autonomy, collecting up to 260,000 liters of water and ensuring continuous access for over 50 students and staff. Waterplan's work in facilitating the partnership and providing pre-project volumetric water benefit estimations helped Nestlé Waters transparently achieve its sustainability goals and make a measurable community impact.
