Case Study: Richmond Football Club achieves secure remote access and stronger network protection with WatchGuard

A WatchGuard Case Study

Preview of the Richmond Football Club Case Study

Sports Club Kicks Security Goals with WatchGuard

Richmond Football Club, the Australian Football League’s Tigers, needed to replace its aging and unreliable Check Point firewalls after an audit revealed security gaps that put corporate data and intellectual property at risk. The club also lacked secure remote access for staff working away from the office and needed stronger Wi‑Fi security controls across different user groups.

Working with Greenlight ITC, Richmond Football Club implemented WatchGuard Total Security Suite on two WatchGuard M370 Firebox appliances in a high-availability setup. WatchGuard helped the club secure VPN access, simplify policy management, split Wi‑Fi into separate SSIDs for corporate users, players, guests, and a school, and support features like web filtering and intrusion prevention. The result was a more flexible, rock-solid security posture that restored confidence, enabled secure remote work, and provided room to grow across future sites.
