Richmond Football Club secures 4 Wi‑Fi networks with WatchGuard

Richmond Football Club, an Australian Football League team, faced significant security risks due to its outdated and unreliable legacy firewalls. The club's valuable intellectual property, including player data and analytics, was vulnerable. Staff were unable to establish secure remote connections, forcing them to rely on portable hard drives and personal machines for off-site work. The club engaged its IT partner, Greenlight ITC, and vendor WatchGuard to find a modern security solution.

The solution involved deploying the WatchGuard Total Security Suite on two M370 Firebox appliances in a high availability configuration. This provided a secure VPN for remote access and allowed the club to easily define and manage distinct security policies for its newly segmented Wi-Fi network. As a result, Richmond Football Club restored its confidence in its security defense, enabled secure flexible working for its staff, and gained a scalable platform for future growth. Simon Reinsch, IT Manager, stated that "WatchGuard just works" and provides a "rock-solid solution."
