Portsmouth Grammar School builds campus Wi‑Fi with WatchGuard access points in every third room

Portsmouth Grammar School (PGS) needed to provide robust Wi-Fi coverage throughout its historic campus, a challenge due to the building's exceptionally thick walls which hampered signals. Their previous network was complex to manage and lacked sufficient security for safeguarding students online. To address this, PGS turned to vendor WatchGuard for a solution involving their wireless access points and Unified Threat Management suite.

WatchGuard implemented a cost-effective network using AP322 and AP325 access points, ensuring strong coverage across the entire school. The solution, managed through a WatchGuard M4600 appliance, provided comprehensive security and control over web access. As a result, PGS now has reliable, secure connectivity, enabling students and staff to use their devices seamlessly and allowing the school to confidently introduce new technologies like Apple TV.
