Stein Labs, a Costa Rican pharmaceutical company with 650 employees and 10 international offices, needed to replace outdated firewalls and find a secure, affordable, and easy-to-manage VPN solution for its branch locations. After evaluating options from Cisco, Fortinet, and WatchGuard, the company looked for a platform that could better protect its network and patient information while reducing maintenance overhead.

WatchGuard implemented Firebox appliances including the M500, XTM 26, XTM 33, and XTM 535, along with AP120 and AP200 wireless access points, to secure Stein Labs’ offices and wireless connections. With WatchGuard, Stein Labs consolidated servers, deployed one appliance per location, and improved uptime and manageability; updates now take about 5 minutes, and the company reported significant savings in time, resources, and cost, along with responsive support.
