A WatchGuard Case Study
Lunch Garden, a restaurant chain in Belgium, faced a challenge when opening a new Bistro Garden coffee corner inside the AfricaMuseum. They required a secure, wireless solution to connect the location's payment systems and cash registers to their central servers, but they had to use the museum's public Wi-Fi infrastructure. For ICT Coordinator Michaël Verleysen, security, stability, and ease of use were critical requirements.
The solution implemented by WatchGuard utilized a Firebox T35-W firewall and an AP325 access point to create a secure VPN connection over the public Wi-Fi. This allowed the coffee corner to be securely connected to the head office within two weeks. The results were a reliable and user-friendly setup that has operated smoothly from day one, ensuring no loss of sales transactions. The success has led Lunch Garden to plan similar deployments for other non-traditional locations in the future.
