Wood County, Ohio - Customer Case Study

Wood County Landfill, a publicly owned solid waste disposal facility in Bowling Green, Ohio, handles about 35,000 tons of residential waste annually and operates recycling and Class IV composting programs. After completing a new 1,700-square-foot scale house in August 2014, staff sought to replace a nearly 15-year-old scale software system to take advantage of the expanded workspace and modernize operations.

The landfill chose WasteWORKS after a demonstration and peer referrals, and received three days of on-site training and tech support. Within a month the scale attendant was confidently handling ticket transactions, daily/monthly recordkeeping, and accounts receivable; customers also praised the new tickets with added information, resulting in smoother operations and improved reporting.
