Mercer County, New Jersey - Customer Case Study

Mercer County Improvement Authority (MCIA) oversees services for more than 350,000 residents across 13 municipalities, including Trenton and Princeton, and manages everything from major construction projects to solid waste and recycling in a tightly regulated New Jersey environment. The Authority faced the challenge of keeping disposal affordable and compliant while running a busy transfer station, enforcing hauler permits, and supporting robust curbside recycling and public education programs.

To meet those needs MCIA implemented WasteWORKS software at its transfer station, improving transaction tracking, permitting and data management. The system delivered faster, more efficient customer service, better use of operational information for enforcement and planning, and strengthened the county’s recycling efforts—helping the Authority maintain affordability, compliance and higher service standards for the community.
