A WasteWORKS Case Study
Martin County Utilities & Solid Waste, which processes about 378 tons of municipal solid waste daily for unincorporated areas of South Florida, needed to streamline scalehouse operations, reduce manual transaction errors, and improve back‑office reporting while keeping project costs down. Their existing system slowed vehicle processing and limited financial and operational visibility.
The county implemented WasteWORKS‑SQL with WasteWIZARD automation and RFID readers on its inbound and outbound scales. The solution automated repeat residential and commercial weigh tickets (now about 26% of transactions), freed scalehouse staff to handle remaining traffic, cut manual errors, and delivered stronger financial tools (aging reports, ticket‑to‑revenue reconciliation, customer controls). The SQL‑based architecture enabled easy custom reporting and, along with responsive vendor support, helped contain costs.
