Case Study: Fort Bragg achieves major waste diversion and data-driven landfill management with WasteWORKS

A WasteWORKS Case Study

Preview of the Fort Bragg Case Study

Fort Bragg - Customer Case Study

Fort Bragg, one of the world’s largest military installations, operates as a self-contained community with schools, hospitals, housing and utilities—and faces the challenge of accommodating rapid growth (an expected 20,000 more people) on limited land. With no centralized regional recycling program and strict requirements to preserve training lands, the base needed aggressive waste diversion strategies to avoid new landfill siting and meet its sustainability goals.

To support that effort Fort Bragg implemented WasteWORKS and WasteWIZARD automation to provide accurate, actionable data on what reaches the landfill. Combined with strong diversion practices—recycling metals, wood, paper, concrete and reusing furniture (more than 15 tons recovered from a single renovation)—the program is extending landfill life, improving stewardship and helping the base pursue its “zero waste by 2025” target.
