The City of Winnipeg sought to modernize operations at its Brady Road Landfill—its only municipal landfill serving 650,000 residents—after relying on a single-scale entrance that handled more than 191,000 transactions in 2008. Facing harsh winter conditions and growing traffic, the city needed a more efficient, secure and scalable scale-house solution. Nearby Rio Blanco County (CO) likewise required a reliable software system when building a new scale facility and evaluated options from neighboring counties.

Winnipeg upgraded to WasteWORKS‑SQL, added WasteWIZARD for an express commercial lane and installed a flat‑fee “Fast Lane” kiosk for residential customers, expanding the entrance to three inbound and two outbound lanes. The changes improved throughput, reporting and security and were well received by both commercial and residential users. Rio Blanco County selected WasteWORKS for its new facility and joined the customer base.
