A WasteWORKS Case Study
City of Minot Landfill, the largest regional waste facility serving six North Dakota counties, processes about 82,000 tons of MSW and 68,800 tons of inert material annually and handles roughly 250 daily tickets. After the 2011 Mouse River flood and rapid regional growth from oil development, the landfill needed to replace its 1994 software to better manage surging traffic, recycling streams, and evolving operational requirements.
Minot converted to WasteWORKS-SQL in November and used a preconfigured training workstation with waste codes, vehicles, and accounts so staff could learn and customize the system before go‑live. The transition was smooth — administrators gained new tools and flexibility to meet changing needs, staff were trained and ready at scale, and the facility now has more robust functionality to manage its increased volume.
