Pocahontas Aluminum Company Inc., a 100-employee manufacturer of windows and doors, was losing productivity to a slow, failing magnetic-strip time clock and keypad system that left employees waiting up to 15 minutes to clock in and out each day. Their previous vendor’s upgrade was prohibitively expensive, and routine tasks like holiday and vacation tracking were manual and disorganized.

Pocahontas implemented WaspTime, an RFID Time & Attendance solution from Wasp Barcode Technologies, enabling employees to punch in by proximity and eliminating the long time-clock line. Clock-ins dropped from 15 minutes to about 2 minutes (an 8x improvement / roughly 80% reduction in wait time), holiday processing now saves about three hours per holiday, and vacation and labor exceptions are entered and tracked more efficiently, helping manage labor costs and automate attendance.
