A Wasp Barcode Technologies Case Study
Lipscomb Fire & Rescue is a 100% volunteer, non-profit fire and emergency medical unit serving Lipscomb near Birmingham, Alabama. They relied on pen-and-paper inventory and manual data entry to track costly tools and medical gear after each call, a slow, error-prone process that consumed hours and risked equipment inaccuracies that could endanger responders and the public.
They implemented Wasp Barcode’s asset tracking software, using barcodes and scanners and self-guided web tutorials to get five users up and running quickly. The new system cut equipment prep time from about one hour to under 20 minutes per run (an 80% time savings), improved accuracy and safety, and delivered the efficiency and support the department needed.
