Clark Memorial Hospital partnered with Wasp Barcode Technologies to address a complex pharmacy challenge: tracking movement and administration for more than 3,000 inventoried medications while improving patient safety. The hospital’s barcode initiative required reliable wristband and medication labeling to enforce the Five Rights of Medication Administration, but many manufacturer-applied barcodes were poorly printed, too large for small vials, or unreadable by scanners.

Clark implemented WaspLabeler + 2D barcode labeling software to produce compact, high-quality 2D and 1D labels for vials, PCA cartridges and other containers. The solution integrated with Smart IV pumps, enabled safe relabeling and reuse of remaining doses (reducing waste and cost), simplified workflows, and delivered measurable benefits: less waste, faster processes, fewer administration errors and improved patient safety.
