A Wasp Barcode Technologies Case Study
New England Wood Pellet, a pellet fuel producer and distributor with about 60 employees across four locations, relied on mechanical punch clocks and manual spreadsheet entry to process timecards. That cumbersome system required roughly 1.5 days each week to calculate payroll, led to transposition errors, and made it difficult to comply with New Hampshire’s requirement that employees sign weekly time cards.
The company implemented WaspTime Pro and four RFID time clocks on its WAN so employees simply wave badges to check in and out, with hours automatically collected and tabulated. Payroll processing time dropped from 1.5 days to about two hours (over an 80% time savings), data-entry errors were eliminated, managers can review and have employees sign timecards for compliance, and staff gained time for higher-value work.
