Kinetiq, a TV and media intelligence solution provider, needed a way to store petabytes of video more affordably as its data grew rapidly. After outgrowing several on-premises storage setups, the company looked for a cloud option that could beat its existing cost per terabyte while supporting multi-petabyte video archiving and migration.

Kinetiq chose Wasabi Technologies and moved its video archives to Wasabi hot cloud storage, using Wasabi Direct Connect and the Wasabi Ball Transfer Appliance to speed migration. The shift helped Kinetiq move from capex to opex, reduce data center footprint, free storage staff for other work, and save an estimated $100K per year, with plans to scale to 6–7 PB in Wasabi.
