Clearview, a Michigan-based provider of security and related services, needed a cost-effective way to help customers meet strict video retention rules, especially for cannabis businesses that must keep surveillance footage for 90 days and store it both on- and offsite. Using local servers and NVRs made this difficult and expensive, so Clearview turned to Wasabi Technologies and its Wasabi Surveillance Cloud offering.

With Wasabi Technologies’ Wasabi Surveillance Cloud, Clearview could offload video data from local systems to the cloud without changing existing VMS operations. The solution enabled compliant, encrypted, immutable offsite storage, lowered TCO by reducing hardware, power, cooling, and technician support needs, and could be set up remotely in about 10 minutes. Clearview also gained scalable, high-performance storage with no CapEx and plans to offer it to more customers beyond those with compliance requirements.
