Yamama Cement boosts power output to 198 MW with Wärtsilä

Yamama Cement Company, one of the largest cement producers in Saudi Arabia, faced the challenge of meeting the kingdom's new efficiency regulations under the Saudi 2030 Vision while operating in a harsh desert climate. They turned to Wärtsilä Energy for a solution that would provide more efficient and reliable power usage for their facility.

Wärtsilä Energy implemented a 198 MW Flexicycle power plant featuring 12 dual-fuel engines and a waste heat recovery system. This solution uses excess exhaust heat to generate additional electricity, maximizing the plant's efficiency. As Saudi Arabia's largest engine plant installation, it provides complete reliability and a significant return on investment for the customer.
