Termelétrica Viana deploys 175 MW power plant with Wärtsilä Energy

Termelétrica Viana S/A faced the challenge of meeting increasing future power demand in a remote location with challenging infrastructure. They partnered with Wärtsilä Energy for a total power plant solution to address this.

Wärtsilä Energy implemented a turnkey solution comprising twenty Wärtsilä 20V32 engines, which provided 175 MW of output and was capable of operating in a hot stand-by mode with short notice switchover to baseload. The results included low fuel consumption over a wide load range and a low overall lifecycle cost, supported by Wärtsilä's full operations and maintenance services.
