A Wärtsilä Energy Case Study
The customer, JB Enertek Co., Ltd, faced the challenge of providing power and heat to a suburban area where the electrical load was minimal at night while the heat demand was at its maximum, all while needing to operate in parallel with the grid and meet strict local noise and emission regulations. Wärtsilä Energy provided engineered equipment delivery for the project.
Wärtsilä Energy's solution involved installing three natural gas-fuelled Wärtsilä 20V34SG generating sets with a heat recovery system and a heat accumulator. This allowed the plant to run continuously at high load, storing excess heat generated during the day for use at night. The results were a plant with 25 MW of electrical output, 21 MW of district heating output, and a total operating efficiency exceeding 79%, ensuring compliance and reliable energy supply.
