Eneva brings 56 MW online in 11 months with Wärtsilä Energy

Eneva, an energy company operating in Brazil, faced the challenge of meeting the country's growing power demand and ensuring energy security, particularly during droughts that threatened its dominant hydropower supply. They needed a fast-track, reliable thermal power solution and selected Wärtsilä Energy to provide a complete engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) solution using their Wärtsilä 50SG gas engines.

Wärtsilä implemented a modular "gas to wire" solution, constructing the 56 MW Parnaíba IV power plant with three Wärtsilä 18V50SG engines. This design allowed for remarkably fast construction and provided flexible, efficient power with high availability. The plant was completed in just 11 months and began supplying full load to the grid, delivering reliable energy production and the flexibility for future expansion.
