Eneo restores 80MW Limbe plant capacity with Wärtsilä

The customer, Eneo Cameroon's Limbe Power Plant, was facing a severe decline in the output of its oil-fired power plant, which was operating at only 40% of its installed 80MW capacity. To address this challenge, Eneo partnered with Wärtsilä Energy for a complete power plant rehabilitation project.

Wärtsilä Energy implemented a solution involving a total overhaul of four Wärtsilä 18V46 engines and five alternators, which included upgrading critical auxiliaries like the radiator systems. This restoration project successfully recovered the plant's original 80MW total generation capacity ahead of schedule. The results for Eneo included significant operational savings from reduced fuel and lube oil consumption, more reliable engines providing power stability, and reduced air emissions.
