The customer, Caparo Power Limited, faced a significant challenge due to an unreliable power supply in India's Bawal Industrial Area. This unreliability led to frequent production interruptions and high costs from relying on diesel-generated power for approximately 30 industries. Wärtsilä Energy partnered with Caparo to address this challenge.

Wärtsilä Energy developed, built, and now operates a 36 MW captive power plant running on natural gas with Wärtsilä 34SG engines. This solution provided a stable and reliable power supply, achieving 99.6% reliability. The plant eliminated the need for substantial upfront investment from the industries and transformed the area into a center of productivity and growth by ensuring uninterrupted operations.
