High-Speed Savings Keeping Mobile Data on Track

Eurostar, the high-speed rail service connecting London with cities in France and Belgium, needed its 1,800-device mobile fleet to stay productive while controlling excessive international roaming bills. Background app refreshes, video streaming and large attachments were driving very high monthly costs, so Eurostar looked for a mobile data management and security solution and selected Wandera (including Wandera’s EMM Connect and its mobile web gateway/expense management capabilities).

With IT partner Qolcom, Eurostar deployed Wandera during a device refresh and integrated it with MobileIron for silent provisioning; Wandera enforced roaming and content policies, compressed HTTP traffic and provided granular visibility. Wandera’s solution cut monthly mobile bills by more than 40%, delivered 16% HTTP compression and drove a 275% increase in roaming productivity, while giving Eurostar the control to prevent future bill shock.
