Case Study: WorkPi builds a secure skills assessment platform with walt.id SSI

A walt.id Case Study

Preview of the WorkPi Case Study

How WorkPi is using Self-Sovereign-Identity to build an assessment platform that securely stores employees data and makes it easy for employers to access trustworthy skills assessments

WorkPi, an open integration assessment and e-learning platform, sought to build a trustworthy system for employee skills data. The challenge was to move away from unreliable resume claims and create verifiable career profiles for employees while giving employers secure, GDPR-compliant access to this information. To solve this, they turned to walt.id for their Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) expertise.

walt.id implemented its open source SSI Kit, which enabled WorkPi to store all employee data in user-owned wallets using verifiable credentials. This solution ensured data was trustworthy, gave control back to employees, and complied with strict EU standards. The successful pilot, supported by the European Commission, led to an ongoing partnership where WorkPi now contributes to walt.id's open source libraries.
