Case Study: Gradiant achieves secure wallet-based identity management for public services with walt.id

A walt.id Case Study

Preview of the Gradiant Case Study

How Gradiant created wallet based identity management solutions for the public sector using Self-Sovereign-Identity

Gradiant, an ICT technology center, needed to build a secure and user-friendly digital identity management solution for a European Union-funded consortium, IMPULSE. The challenge was to move away from inefficient centralized public administration services by creating a decentralized Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) model that respected data privacy. They sought an open-source, EBSI-compliant solution to achieve this.

walt.id provided the foundational SSI technology, with Gradiant contributing to their open-source SSI Kit libraries. This collaboration resulted in the successful implementation of six distinct use cases across various European public administrations, from secure online complaints in Spain to a participatory democracy platform in Iceland. The walt.id solution was praised for its versatility, ease of deployment, and the team's collaborative expertise in the European SSI ecosystem.
