Sweetwater used a social wall to increase real-time engagement with the 17,000+ people in attendance at GearFest

Sweetwater, the largest online retailer of musical instruments and pro audio equipment in the United States, wanted to boost real-time engagement at its GearFest music festival and encourage attendees to share their experiences with others. To support that goal, Sweetwater used Walls.io to create a social media event wall for the 17,000+ visitors attending the 2019 event in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Using Walls.io and its API, Sweetwater customized the wall with a sidebar for rotating event messages, hashtag instructions, prize-draw promotions, and even recruiting messages, while keeping the display readable from a distance. The wall also featured looping video posts, which helped draw people in, and the result was a clear success: attendees watched it frequently to see their photos displayed, engagement increased throughout the day, and Sweetwater said the wall added to the excitement enough that it will likely use Walls.io again at future GearFest events.
