Saint-Quentin Hospital chooses the WALLIX Bastion to secure the outsourcing of sensitive information systems

Hospital Center De Saint-Quentin, the largest general hospital in Picardie (976 beds, ~2,300 staff), relied on around 60 external providers who remotely accessed IT applications and biomedical systems. Facing limited visibility and coarse controls from a standard VPN firewall, the hospital needed to control third‑party access, manage privileged user permissions finely, and trace all actions—so it selected WALLIX’s Wallix AdminBastion via a public tender.

WALLIX deployed a virtual Wallix AdminBastion in the hospital DMZ (July–December 2012) with session data and video recordings stored on an internal server. The solution delivered strict privileged‑user controls, highly granular access rights without sharing target passwords, and full session recording—giving the hospital comprehensive visibility over the actions of its ~60 external providers, a stronger security posture, and faster, more effective incident response.
