Case Study: PSA Group achieves centralized privileged-account monitoring and Basel II compliance with WALLIX Bastion

A WALLIX Case Study

Preview of the PSA Group Case Study

PSA opts for WALLIX Bastion to monitor its privileged accounts in a complex environment

PSA Group, governed by strict internal security policies and Basel II banking regulations, needed to secure and log high‑privilege actions across a complex estate of more than ten thousand servers and several thousand administrators. To meet requirements for traceability, auditability and rapid adoption while addressing challenges such as high availability, automation and SOC alerting, PSA Group selected WALLIX and its WALLIX Bastion privileged access management solution.

WALLIX implemented Bastion starting with a 2011 trial and scaled to a centralized, highly available farm of eight WAB 2000 appliances that provide load balancing, monitor and log access to several thousand UNIX servers, and handle about 1,000 simultaneous SSH/RDP sessions. Integrated with PSA Group’s IAM, CMDB and SIEM, WALLIX Bastion delivers real‑time alerts to the SOC, centralized privileged access, full audit trails, improved response times after a migration to V5, and ongoing rollout to thousands of Windows servers—resulting in regulatory compliance, rapid organizational adoption and positive user feedback.
