NHS Birmingham chooses WALLIX Bastion to protect healthcare data

Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, which delivers community and specialist services across Birmingham and the West Midlands with around 5,000 staff, needed to secure patient data and control increasingly complex remote access to critical applications. Facing a growing number of IT administrators and about 20 external service providers connecting remotely, the Trust selected WALLIX and its WALLIX Bastion privileged access management platform to address those security and compliance challenges.

With support from integrator Armstrong, the Trust deployed WALLIX Bastion across 150 servers for 20 Bastion users, giving the team audit trails, session recording and centralised control of privileged access. WALLIX enabled the Trust to eliminate shared logins, monitor exactly what external providers do, speed up incident analysis and response, and meet GDPR/compliance requirements—delivering measurable visibility, tighter control and greater operational confidence.
