Generali, the leading insurer in Italy and the third-largest in Europe with 82,000 employees and 69 million customers, needed to recertify access rights and identities across a highly diverse IT landscape. Facing hundreds of applications, a wide range of application roles, and volumetric problems that made fine-grained permission management impractical, Generali selected WALLIX and its WALLIX IAG solution (formerly Kleverware) to establish permanent control systems and give internal controllers visibility over identities and rights.

WALLIX deployed WALLIX IAG Analytics & Workflows, delivering a rapid, low‑cost implementation that in a few weeks mapped directories, processed large volumes, and provided managers with web-based rights reviews and visibility on previously unseen profiles and permissions. By integrating with Varonis for sensitive-data mapping and the ticketing tool via APIs, WALLIX enabled automated deletion requests, removal of orphan accounts, simplified recertification, reduced risk, and reinforced compliance—addressing auditors’ recommendations and restoring control over access rights across Generali.
