Mednet Protects Phi, Ensures Hipaa Compliance and Grows the Web Platform With Wallarm

MedNet Solutions, the eClinical/EDC provider behind iMedNet, needed reliable, scalable Web Application Firewall (WAF) protection while migrating its platform to AWS to protect PHI and meet HIPAA and customer compliance requirements. To address these needs, MedNet selected Wallarm’s managed WAF service, using Wallarm Docker container deployments integrated into their AWS environment.

Wallarm deployed WAF nodes as Docker containers on MedNet’s infrastructure (so proxies terminate SSL locally and no extra BAA with Wallarm was required), provided 24/7 managed monitoring, vulnerability scanning and incident alerts, and integrated with MedNet’s Sumo Logic logging. The result: MedNet met HIPAA/PHI requirements, avoided additional BAA costs, maintained performance and scalability behind load balancers, and gained faster detection and response through Wallarm’s managed service.
