Applebee’s uses Waitwhile to improve the guest experience & save staff time

Apple American Group, the largest Applebee’s franchisee, needed a better way to manage crowds and guest wait times as indoor dining reopened during and after the pandemic. Waitwhile’s queue management platform was brought in to replace paper lists and help staff handle waits more efficiently across 441 Applebee’s locations in 23 U.S. states.

With Waitwhile, Applebee’s created a virtual waitlist that let guests wait in their cars, receive automatic notifications, and message staff directly, while employees managed the queue from Android tablets. The rollout was easy, the system helped locations stay compliant with changing state rules, and Waitwhile improved efficiency, reduced staff workload, and created a smoother experience for both guests and employees across all 441 restaurants.
